It only has strip lights around the perimeter so you cannot read words in the center at all. I bought a light kit. Tore it apart and ran lights around the perimeter as well as 3 strips through the center. It looks great and reads well now.

Just as pictured the engraving was perfect I think I got an xs collar my dog is only 5lbs and the bow was huge it is over sized and supposed to be like that
